Reptile Youth are back to mix up your head and break your heart with another standout track from their exceptional debut album. ‘Be My Yoko Ono’ is yet another slice of the Youth at their best – an electrifying, exhilarating rush of electro pop set to detonate the airwaves and dancefloors alike. Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen delivers his plea over a ferocious bass riff by partner-in-crime Esben Valløe, while the whole thing threatens to spiral out of control like an over-indulgent, neon lit night in the big city.
Featuring a call and response duet with the vocalist of the Danish female band Nelson Can. Be sure to check out the track’s stunning video courtesy of Lucy McRae, and see our heroes rendered and manipulated as puppets of technology.
This forth single from Reptile Youth’s album also delivers a set of essential remixes – maintaining their reputation for collaborating with the hottest talents out there.
LA based psych-rock-dub-synth-pop-duo Peaking Lights’ remix plays up the bright, day-glo synths and draws out even more of the new wave influences, echoing their groundbreaking work on last year’s ‘936’ and the new ‘Lucifer’ long players.
Brooklynite Francis Harris, (aka Adultnapper), alongside his collaborator Gry Bagoien, also produce two sublime mixes. The main mix strips down the original to a low slung, moody affair, while the dub takes it further into to the realm of discerning dancefloors.
Reptile Youth continue their year of total world domination – the only question remaining is whether you are already on board?
